Shelley Garebarksi from Georgetown was the lucky winner of the 2012 Toyota AFL Grand Final Package competition run by RACT Insurance. Shelley has won a trip for two people to Melbourne for two nights, tickets to the AFL Grand Final Breakfast and tickets to the AFL Grand Final. With over 2500 entries, Shelley was very excited that her name was drawn out and now has to decide which lucky person is gets to go with her. Congratulations Shelley. Burnie's Luke Shackleton completed a dominant home and away State League season by being named the 2012 RACT Insurance Player of the Year. The Burnie Dockers co-captain finished the season with 30 votes, three clear of Glenorchy's Jaye Bowden, with Burnie team made, Jason Laycock, a further 15 back on 15 points. The Mercury, the Examiner and the Advocate award the votes each week. The RACT Insurance Player of the Year receives $2500 cash and a $2500 travel package. Shackleton is considered one of the toughest competitors of the on-ball brigade in the competition, with the versatility to go forward and become a goal sneak. He kicked 20 goals for the season. RACT Insurance CEO, Trent Sayers, believes Shackleton has won the respect of all involved in the State League competition. "On behalf of RACT Insurance, we congratulate Luke on an outstanding season to date. He has clearly been one of the most prominent players in the competition this season and thoroughly deserves to be awarded the RACT Insurance Player of the Year. It is also extremely pleasing from RACT Insurance's perspective that a player from each region has now won the award. We look forward to watching him play during the finals series.
