How Best Doctors can help R ACT members who belong to R ACT Health Insurance’s Platinum hospital cover now have access to the Best Doctors program, which gives exclusive access to world-leading medical advice. Best Doctors was founded in 1989 by doctors from the renowned Harvard University School of Medicine. It is a specialist service that assists members experiencing a significant medical condition by providing access to some of the leading medical specialists in the world. It was established to achieve a specific goal – to connect people to a network of peer-nominated, leading specialists from around the globe. These doctors w ill be able to provide confidence, clarity and certainty to the patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan. The process is simple. Once you’ve received a diagnosis from your treating medical practitioner, call the Best Doctors team of medical professionals in Australia and quote your R ACT Health Insurance member number. You are then able to discuss your medical condition and diagnosis. Once you give Best Doctors your consent to gather and analyse your medical information, Best Doctors selects a leading medical specialist to review your case. Once this has occurred you will be contacted directly with a full report to look over and share with your doctor in Australia. Wish upon a star T he Australian Auto Clubs’ STAR Rating Scheme has launched new signage to promote its upgraded accreditation program. The new branding retains A AA Tourism’s well-known and respected STAR trademarks and is appearing on 7000 properties around Australia. AAA Tourism CEO Peter Blackwell said travellers could engage immediately with the new STAR Rating Scheme by visiting www.starratings.com.au “ When they see how we assess cleanliness and quality as well as facilities, they will know we really are the champion of accommodation standards,” he said. “More than 94% of travellers rate cleanliness their top priority and most want quality to be rated too, but the real trick is to measure it. We have developed a percentage score system that rates more than 200 different factors. The new STAR R atings ensure a property has the cleanliness and quality to match its facilities – in short, the accommodation you expect should be the accommodation you get.” The scheme traces its origins to 1915, when the Auto Clubs first prov ided their members with travel information, and builds on the national STAR R ating scheme introduced in 1963. R ACT members can pick up a copy of the Accommodation or Tour ist Park Guides from your R ACT branch.
