Destinations Smiles, serenades and sore feet Linda Smith finds them all in the City of Love On our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, my husband was initially unimpressed. `` It’s a bit ‘railway station’,’’ he remarked, referring to the towering chunk of metal that also happens to be one of world’s most recognisable landmarks.
