The V8 Supercars are heading to Tasmania on 11-13 November for the Falken Tasmania Challenge – the state’s largest single sporting event. Fans heading to the Symmons Plains track will be treated to an array of new features and improvements to ensure the event is an action-packed experience for ever yone. In an exclusive Tasmania appearance, the Disney Pixar’s CARS Truck Tour will be a feature in the Family Zone on Saturday and Sunday of the event weekend. The life size Mack transporter w ill form the center piece of Radiator Spr ings, where the entire family can enjoy interactive games. CARS fans of all ages will delight in the excitement of Lightning McQueen’s slot car racing tournament, there will be plenty of arts and crafts taking place in the Mater workshop and you will get to experience the fun and education of Doc Hudson’s Driver Training Track – learn the rules of driving on your very own road, complete with stop signs, give away signs and working traffic lights! V8 Supercars driver Mark ‘Frosty’ Winterbottom will be visiting the attraction to meet young fans and challenge them in the ultimate CARS Playstation Racing Championship and the Lightning McQueen slot car racing tournament. Mark has a cameo role of ‘Frosty’ in Disney Pixar’s CARS 2 for Australian and New Zealand audiences. For the first time, grandstand ticket holders will have the opportunity to walk down pit lane at the end of the day’s racing on Saturday to get up close and personal with their favourite team. New for this year will be a Redline Coach service to Symmons Plains from Hobart. Tickets will be available for purchase online through the Redline Coaches website. As in previous years, there will be free shuttle services between Inveresk and Symmons Plains – so leave the stress of traffic behind and take up one of the bus services for an easy and convenient way to get to the track. The Falken Tasmania Challenge will also host an array of supporting events including the penultimate round of the Australian Superbike Championships, Formula Ford Australia, Formula 3 and Aussie Racing Cars. Kids 12 and under receive free general admission to the event with a paying adult.
