Snow and ice on Pinnacle Road Closures of Pinnacle Road over the winter months can cause fr ustration when Mt Wellington has a dusting of snow, and the kids are keen for some snow fun. Closures can occur due to the sheer amount of snow and/or ice on the road; the need to maintain safe areas while clearing is occurring; or when Pinnacle Road and available parking areas are at full capacity. Closures are usually at the Springs, as this provides a suitable area for managing vehicles. To avoid disappointment, please check that the road is open before heading up the mountain. Visit the Hobar t City Council website (www.hobartcity.com.au) or call the Pinnacle Road Infor mation Line on 6278 0200. On the mountain, drivers should be prepared for adverse weather, difficult road conditions and potential delays. Always follow instructions from on-ground staff – they are there to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable exper ience.
