Journeys : June July 2009
Tastes to savour The opportunity to taste over 200 wines will be available to RACT Wine Club members this coming August. Tastings will be held in Strahan, Launceston and Hobart on 13, 15 and 16 August. Some 30 winemakers from Tasmania and mainland wine producing areas will be attending the Launceston and Hobart Wine Fairs and approximately 20 will be showing their wines at Strahan. This is a great opportunity for wine lovers to taste and compare a great selection of wine from wine dignitaries such as d’Arry Osborn from the d’Arenberg vineyard in McLaren Vale and Tim Knappstein from Riposte in the Adelaide Hills, showing his cool climate range of wines. Nick Holmes from Shottesbrooke in McLaren Flat, Nick Zema from Zema Estate in the Coonawarra region; Peter Dennis from Dennis Wines and winemakers from Bethany, Coriole, Hamilton/ Leconfield, Skillogalee and Serafino Wines will all be attending. From Victoria there’s Viv Thomson from Best’s Great Western, Ruth Ellis from Hanging Rock Winery, Sam Plunkett from Plunkett-Fowles and Steve Goodwin, winemaker of the world’s best Shiraz, representing Witchmount. Red Hill from the Mornington Peninsula, Crawford River and All Saints will also be represented. Arrowfield, Beelgara Estate, Poole’s Rock and Westend from New South Wales regions will also be showing their wines. Tasmanian wine is well represented by icon producers Bass Fine Wines, Delamere Vineyard, Freycinet, Holm Oak, Iron Pot Bay, RACT WINE CLUB Order Form Offer valid until 31 July 2009.
