Farewell and happy travelling! F Sincerely Robyn Sinfield inally, this is my last edition as General Manager Travel at RACT Travelworld. I have decided not to renew my contract Photo: Vince Taskunas Breakfast with the Queen O n a sparkling February morning, 160 RACT Travelworld clients and travel consultants boarded the MV Cartela to cruise down the River Derwent to meet the newest Cunard ship, Queen Victoria, on her inaugural visit to Hobart. The experience was an absolute delight – the weather played its part with brilliant blue skies, no wind and a river that was as calm as a millpond. Breakfast was served as we left the dock and everyone was eager to get underway. From Complete Cruise Solutions, Cunard’s representatives in Australia, we had Don Clark, Director of Sales Australia and New Zealand; David Clark, Regional Sales Manager; and Darren Chigwidden, Business Partnership Manager, all aboard to present the Cunard product to our clients. Proudly continuing the tradition of luxury cruising that began in 1840, Queen Victoriawas successfully launched in December 2007 and was named by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in a spectacular ceremony in Southampton. Cunard Line is one of the world’s most-recognised brand names with a classic British heritage – on this spectacular morning, the famous red and black livery stood out against a Tasmanian summer sky. There she was – tall, regal and at 90,000 tonnes the second-largest ship in the Cunard fleet – cruising into our wonderful harbour on her inaugural visit to Hobart. It was a thrill and a privilege for us all to be part of Cunard history on this unique day.
